Sanctuary Care chooses Kronos to gain real-time visibility to staff and maintain CQC standards

4 November 2011 - Sanctuary Care, a leading provider of nursing and residential care with more than 45 homes across the UK, has chosen Kronos to improve efficiencies around time and attendance management and scheduling of its 3,000 staff.

The implementation of Kronos® will also make it easier to ensure that each care home continues to rigorously adhere to the Care Quality Commission (CQC) regulated staff levels.

Len Merton, Sanctuary’s Director of Care, explains: “Sanctuary Care is part of a not-for-profit organisation and with labour being a major focus for all businesses; we are looking for a very high degree of efficiency in managing our staffing levels.  Following a thorough review of the workforce systems available and a full tender process, Kronos offered us an excellent solution to our labour management needs.”

Phase one of the project, which is due to be completed by spring next year, is the implementation of Kronos in all the older people’s homes at Sanctuary Care and will record the hours each member of staff has worked.  The organisation’s use of Kronos in the future will also include online scheduling for staff, simplifying the process of ensuring appropriately skilled team members are on duty at all times in line with CQC regulations.

Simon Macpherson, Operations Director, Kronos Systems says: “Labour costs are high in residential care homes and it is imperative that organisations look for ways to manage down costs without compromising care.  We’re delighted to be working with the team at Sanctuary Care and are sure our system will provide the organisation with an effective workforce management solution to suit their needs.”
