Kent Fire and Rescue service is one of the busiest in the country. With 66 fire stations, 120 fire engines and 1,700 operational members of staff, the service deals with around 20,000 incidents every year. A major challenge therefore facing the organisation is to maximise the number of operational fire crews available to attend incidents throughout the year, but especially during key holiday periods when staff availability is reduced.
