High turnover is the cost of doing business. Unengaged employees are just the nature of the workforce. This thinking, as it relates to past history, is damaging to the development of the new and creative solutions required to address excessive turnover. One’s past situation need not be an indicator one’s future circumstances. If things are to change in these high turnover industries, then that change must start with enlightened leadership teams who are committed to developing a workforce that is engaged and willing to go the extra mile to support organisational objectives.
